Nia and the New Free Library

I love a book that pays homage to the joy and community books can hold! When a tornado destroys the old library in Nia’s hometown, the townspeople disagree on what will become of the space the library once frequented. Nia; realizing that her community doesn’t seem to see the need for a library to continue decides that the library must go on, even if she has to do it alone.

Nia’s drive, perseverance, and dedication to her goal inspires her community, while also reminding them of the importance of safe spaces like libraries in the community. Sometimes the biggest things can start with almost nothing at all. The book nerd in me absolutely adored this one, a metaphorical love letter to the library!
