My Tiny Pet
Anyone else out there have a kiddo who loves random, obscure creatures? My middle guy is drawn to the most unusual, unique animals—many of which we’ve discovered are so rare that it’s difficult to find sufficient library books to learn more about them.
We were delighted to find this book, My Tiny Pet, about a boy who convinces his parents to adopt the tiniest pet ever (so tiny in fact that it can only be viewed by a microscope at 300x). The interesting part is this “water bear” also known as a tardigrade is a real tiny organism. Now my son is drawing tardigrades and throwing around words like cryptobiosis like it’s nothing. You learn something new everyday!
