Nanette's Baguette

Nanette’s Baguette is one of our favorite Mo Willems books. It is packed with rhyming short -e words. Posting a few ways to expand upon this book. .
.
1. “Read” along to the book on YouTube.
.
2. Make a list of all the words in the story that have short -e, (-et/-ette) ending. You’ll have more buy in if you the parent write the list, and have kids shout out words. I suggest doing this on a piece of paper taped to the wall or an easel so it’s easily visible, and kid(s) can see you sounding out and writing words. Examples included for reference. When list is finished, reread list aloud together. .
.
3. Watch this quick about about the making the setting of Nanette’s Baguette (a French village) by Mo Willems.
.
4. Extensions: create your own village using old cereal and Amazon boxes, markers, and paint. Let ‘me loose!
