Polar Bear Island
Polar Bear Island has rules. Strict rules, dutifully enforced by Parker the curmudgeonly head polar bear who is quick to enforce NO OTHERS ALLOWED.
When Kirby the person shows up on an ice floe, tired and hungry after a long journey, Parker is quick to send him away- compromising by agreeing that he can only spend one night and then he must leave. Kirby, grateful for a day of rest, unpacks his suitcase which is packed to the brim with creative inventions designed to improve quality of life in the snow. The other polar bears are intrigued and interested in Kirby, befriending him, and begging him to stay. Will Parker change his mind and realize that benefits new friend might add to the community? A quick book with a great message about inclusivity and learning through opening ourselves up to others.
