An Orange in January

As a former teacher (currently on “sabbatical”) I always see children’s books through my teacher lens. This one is a perfect extension of the grade social studies unit learning about how goods are transported.
We follow the life of an orange, from its inception flowering on the branch, across the country via transport truck, all the way to a much colder destination, where the sweet, juicy fruit is enjoyed at recess on a cold January day. A nonfiction window into where produce originates and how it may end up in your lunchbox.
