The Great Spruce

Another great book about a Christmas tree- are you sensing a theme here? The great spruce is lovingly cared with the inevitable goal of being the holiday tree for a bustling city square. However, when the fateful day comes to cut down the tree, the caretaker cries out, instead suggesting perhaps instead of cutting it down and ending its life, they borrow the tree. Brilliant idea?! The roots are dug deep and wrapped in burlap and transported to the city square where it stands elegant and proud. After it’s moment under twinkling lights, the great spruce is returned to its home, happy and content.
Added bonus, a non-fiction epilogue about the history and traditions of selecting, transporting, and replanting of holiday Christmas trees.
