Iggy Peck, Architect
Another gem by Andrea Beaty. Iggy Peck, Architect is an eccentric boy who adores building, and spends his youth constructing anything and everything, using found materials from blocks to pancakes- including but not limited to...soiled nappies (my kids love that page).
His enjoyment in building all things continues to grow until second grade, when his teacher, Miss Lila Greer, with her phobia of buildings and penchant for strict rules, prohibits ANY building, further admonishing poor Iggy for doing what he loves.
Iggy spends his second grade year sad and blue, until one day when a field trip goes awry, he seizes the opportunity to utilize his gifts and save the day (simultaneously redeeming himself and returning to Miss Lila Greer’s good graces), showing her that not all architects and builders are creative visionaries.
